HOGWARTS KAFE
Even though there are times we prefer alone or 'me' time while going out to relax, sometimes we just need people with same vibe or energy to hangout or explore new places, especially if you are too lazy to get out of the house on your own. And I was glad I found the right kind of people to chill with. late, but still glad. And that is exactly how we found out about 'HOGWARTS KAFE'.
This place is definitely a must visit for all the potterheads or anyone who is into nice and quirky ambience of a restaurant. The one we went to was in a much quiet street in Ashok Vihar, New Delhi
Even though it looked small and compact from the outside, the interiors gave us quite the opposite impression. Every decoration was creatively done to bring the Harry Potter / Hogwarts aesthetic. For someone who loves cafes with difference ambience/aesthetic, we sure found this place really cool. I had the honor of sitting besides the one and only "Professor Albus Dumbledore" (it was a wall painting, of course !) whereas my friends went to sit besides Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, who looked nothing like Ron and more like old Kamal Hassan from the movie 'Indian'.
One of the things I liked about this place is the lighting. Not too bright that we didn't have to squint our eyes to look around, but more of a gloomy lighting which is my absolute favourite and sadly, you can't have that in South Asian homes because apparently everything needs to be bright and loud, including mobile screens.
The Menu had a variety of cuisines, from Italian to Desi. Even though I thought there could still be more imagination or creativity put to the menu, because I doubt whether people would travel all the way to a themed restaurant for 'Roti-Sabzi'.
One of the most Indian thing is that we are clearly worst when it comes to choosing, especially when it comes to food. And God-forbid if the menu has lot of options, the table becomes a war-zone. Still at the end we will end up choosing the same thing that we have been having for the past 10 years of our lives.
And that is exactly what happened here too. After staring at the menu for atleast 'N' times, we ended up ordering Pizza ; Still better than going full 'Desi' at a Harry Potter themed restaurant. But we showed a bit of variety in choosing our drinks.
Another highlight of this 'K'afe is their presentation style, especially the drinks. Most of the drinks were brought in a small box designed like a door. Once the waiter opens that box, you will see your drink appearing in the midst of smoke, creating a deja-vu kinda effect.
Not only at choosing , but I am pretty much also bad at finding whether the food tastes good or not. So in my opinion the food was just as good as every other food I had at different restaurants. The drinks were also good and looking cool with all the tropical bright colors.
We also took photographs wearing costumes like the witch hat and robes. And not to my surprise, I exactly looked like one.
The whole experience and the day was super fun.
See ya until the next hangout :)
Good outing and a good article...... Keep travelling and writing. All the best.
